So, lately I have gotten a lot of negative talking about my look from my surrounding humanoids. I have semi-long dark-blonde hair, mostly dark/black clothing, geeky-looking glasses and so on... And I'm always just like: Oh hey, you don't like my look? That's cool, it's just not my problem. I'm always letting comments about my look slip without taking that kind of stuff personal, but there are some who does... and it's, sort of, to these people that I'm writing this.
Basically, our looks is just that shell that keeps us somewhat protected from all sorts of bacteria and so, but on the inside we are all human beings, we share the same DNA-codes, we all have the same organs in the same places no matter our amount of tan on our skin. Our beliefs are different, but we as decent human beings, even gingers, are poor at respecting that other people doesn't always think the same way as we do. We've had multiple examples of something going completely wrong, because of the actions that a very small group of people "absolutely needed" to carry out.
The Muhammad Drawings was 14 notorious drawings of a less than nice view on how the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad, could have looked. I, personally, got angry, because the drawings weren't necessary, and it was even less important to re-print some of them again and again. It was clear to me that the drawings fully intended to make a mockery of Islam, without thinking about the consequences. The anger that followed in the Islamic World took most people by surprise. Burning flags and ambasseys lasted for about a month. The problem here was that the rage was turned on the wrong target; instead of just raging out against the paper and the drawers, rage was turned on Denmark and Danes. I had to explain several times to some of my Muslim friends throughout the world, that this was not the cause of the Danish Government nor something that the entire population agreed to and stood behind.
Ignorance, intolerance and armed forces is one hell of a bad cocktail. Is your neighbour a potential serial killer? Maybe, but the chances are very low, but hey, you'll never know when you'll be in the need of a hand-gun, right?
So, to conclude all this nonsense. With this thread I will state my opinion against gun-laws and I will recommend everyone who is unsure about it, to watch Michael Moore's "Bowling for Columbine", it really puts things into perspective.
The world would be a better place without weapons.
